LivingBold: LivingBold Q&A: My home life Video Games

Most Recently Posted |
Q:My 5th grade brother enjoys playing rated-T Star Wars Battlefront and my mom is okay with that because it has "a storyline". But when I, a senior in high school, want to buy a rated-T Medal of Honor game set during WWI, she doesn't let me. Is there illogical thinking by a side here?0

A:

Nate,

I have to admit that it seems illogical. Yet, I can also understand why a parent would not want a child playing Medal of Honor. Even though war is not necessarily sin (at least for one side), the violence is not good. It's certainly not good exposure for a teen. To be fair, the violence of Star Wars isn't any better - even if it's in the future. I personally think neither game is good.

The bigger issue is how you resolve conflict with your parents. Don't whine and complain. Ask for a reasonable explanation. Present your side. Then abide by their decision.

God bless
