LivingBold: LivingBold Q&A: Of this world Outer Space

Most Recently Posted |
Q:I was watching this show on TV about how scientists are looking for evidence of water, life, etc. on Mars. This thought came to me: Could God have created Mars this way to let people think life could be there and theorize about the millions and billions of years that they say this all took place in? That way they don't have to believe what we do?

A:

Nate,

Glad to know you're thinking about such things.

God created us as curious human beings. I think he wants us to investigate our world and discover the beauties of his creation. Of course, he wants us to do this so that we can receive his blessings and give him glory. Whenever humans seek to glorify themselves or to defy God, they sin. Whatever discoveries we make must be put under the light of God's word. God told us that he created the world in six 24-hour days. Any discovery must match that truth or we really haven't found the truth.

And remember, God wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of his truth (1 Timothy 2:4).

God bless.
