What can you do to fund the work of WELS? The first priority is to give regular offerings to your congregation. Each congregation sends a portion of offerings to fund the work we do together as a synod. You can also encourage your church council to think about the needs of WELS when they are considering your congregation's annual budget--whether it's possible to increase offerings to WELS. Many people make donations outside of their regular offerings, and WELS certainly is appreciative of above and beyond gifts!
If the Holy Spirit moves you, consider a current (immediate) gift to WELS ministry. If you have want to give a large gift, through your estate plan, or in a way other than the usual cash/online donation (examples: stock, retirement plans, land, etc.), you will want to consider the planned giving instruments. These instruments, available through WELS Foundation, are flexible, tax-wise, and can even provide income to your or your family.
