The Apache Lutheran Mission field is located in Eastern Arizona on the White Mountain Apache Reservation and the San Carlos Reservation. Between the two reservations there are seven churches, two preaching stations, and three Lutheran elementary schools. The Wisconsin Synod has been serving the Apache nation in Arizona since 1893 and holds the honor of being the first world mission of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Currently, the mission field includes four missionaries, one full time native evangelist, a native field director, a director for the ACTS program, two native elementary teachers, nine non-native teachers, and two part-time evangelists. The Apache Lutheran churches are currently training future leaders for work as evangelists, teachers, and pastors through the Apache Christian Training School (ACTS) located at the East Fork Mission.
For the security of our missionary families, national workers, and those we are reaching with the Gospel, the Board for World Missions has chosen NOT to post information about select mission fields. The public posting of such material could endanger the people or the work being done. If you would like to know more about our activity in a specific part of the world and do not find information on our website, please contact the world mission office with your questions.
