Who Can Teach This Course?

This course was intended to be locally led. Five qualifications you want to identify when you choose a leader for your Heart in Focus course:

  1. Strong Christian faith that joyfully lives in Christ
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and practice of the basics of wise financial management
  3. Proven ability to lead the course in an engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful way
  4. A caring heart that is responsive toward people and their personal situation
  5. Not representing any financial product or service from which the leader profits


What is the Length of the Course?

The 6 sessions in the Heart in Focus workbook can be taught in a variety of ways – larger congregational settings or small groups.  Some scheduling options are (in order of preference):

  • Once a week for 6 weeks with 75-90 minute sessions
  • Once a week for 8 weeks with 60 minute sessions (splitting 2 workbook sessions)
  • 4 Saturday mornings with 2 ½ sessions each
  • 2 Sunday afternoons with 4 ½ hours each.
  • A concentrated 1 ½ day session (which doesn’t provide as much application time)


Affordable

Heart in Focus is a practical tool for congregations. It instructs individuals and couples in foundational aspects of finances and challenges them in concrete ways to better handle their daily and long term finances to reach their life goals. The cost of the workbook is very affordable for the participant and the training material affordable for the congregation.
