WELS Committee on Relief, the synod's "ministry of compassion," brings physical relief to victims of natural disasters through gifts of cash grants, food, clothing, and medical supplies. The current focus is aid for the people of Haiti following earthquakes in the country.

WELS Special Ministries serves the following areas: deaf and hard of hearing, health and wellness (elderly, hospitals, etc.), mental health needs, military, visually impaired, called workers, special education, and prison ministry.

Operating Fund
WELS' new logo and look, built around the message "Christ's Love, Our Calling," reflect our synod's commitment to sharing the gospel with as many people as possible. A gift to WELS' Operating Fund supports these efforts through our ministerial education system, home and world mission fields, and other ministries.

Through two preparatory high schools, a college, and a seminary, WELS provides in-depth biblical training to those who want to pursue a gospel vocation like pastor, teacher, or staff minister.
|
|
WELS is building up a Ministerial Education Endowment Fund with the primary purpose of providing regular, ongoing tuition assistance for students of the ministerial education program.
