Dear fellow educators,
This is an exciting time of year for called workers. Most, if not all, of our education endeavors at church and in the community are ramping up to full speed. Students of all ages have returned to school. At church Sunday school has opened, teen and adult Bible classes are running, and catechism classes have begun. During my 29 years of parish service I enjoyed these initial days of returning to being very busy with the educational efforts in our congregation.
One of the dangers I faced was repeating the “same old, same old” stuff year after year. Praise the Lord for our Northwestern Publishing House which has prepared such a variety of materials that we can use with all age groups of our congregation. In addition, the WELS Adult Discipleship office is preparing a fall stewardship series based on our synod theme of “Christ’s Love, Our Calling,” to begin this year.
May all of us be sure to take a look at those materials and see if they can’t help us improve our presentation of God’s truths. God’s blessings to all of you as you launch this very busy education season in your congregation.
In Our Savior’s Service,
Dave Liggett
Director of Christian Giving
